Congratulations, Ms. Diaz-Rivera!

Please join me in congratulating Ms. Liana Diaz-Rivera, who has been named the new principal at Grafton Day School in Berryville, Virginia.  While this is a tremendously exciting and deserving promotion for Ms. Diaz-Rivera, she will be truly missed here at Parklawn by students, families, and staff. 

While here at Parklawn during the 2024-2025 school year, Ms. Diaz-Rivera created many wonderful relationships with our students, staff and families.  She has been patient and kind with students- always holding them to high expectations; has supported our staff personally and professionally; and has been an instructional leader focused on individual student success.

Ms. Diaz-Rivera’s first official day at Grafton Day School will be Monday, July 7. We wish her the very best in her new role as principal and thank her for all she has done to support the students, parents, staff, and community here at Parklawn Elementary School. 

FCPS Summer Meals Program

School is out, summer meals are in! Fairfax County Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability or age, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided, on a first come, first serve basis, at the times listed below. Children must remain onsite while consuming their meals. Parklawn ES will be a meal site July 7-25.  Breakfast will be served 9-10 a.m.; lunch is 12-1 p.m. Meals will not be served on July 4.
