A letter from our editor:
This summer, the stuff by the front door seems to have been multiplying. Between the flash summer storms, swim lessons for my daughter, family trips to the lake, and dog walks in scorching temps, the supplies I've needed to keep up with in our entryway have gotten out of control. Sunscreen, bug sprays, water bottles, and endless towels in various stages of dryness are endlessly gathered near the door, accompanied by a lone kicked-off sandal and someone's sweaty baseball hat. And don't even get me started on the sunglasses.
The piles aren't going anywhere anytime soon, so I've been experimenting with various solutions for storing all this stuff in a high-traffic area with a limited amount of space. The trouble is, I am not the easiest customer — hanging everything from a million door hooks or transferring it all to a few baskets isn't going to cut it. I want to find a way to keep track of everything that is convenient, versatile, and aesthetically pleasing. Is that too much to ask??
Turning to Pinterest, I've stumbled into a whole new-to-me world of smart storage solutions that marry function with beauty. Here are some of the things inspiring me from around the internet, along with some sales I'm personally keeping my eye on for the 4th of July weekend.
Hope you're staying cool, and finding cute, easy ways to manage all your summer paraphernalia, wherever you are!
Warmly, Stephanie Contributing Editor
