Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Flip 7 and the less expensive Flip 7 FE, along with two smartwatches, at Unpacked today. Executive Jay Kim predicts that phones will remain central as AI advances and other devices will increasingly incorporate the technology, saying that Samsung is "making very good progress" with it.

US retailers have been proactively responding to impending tariffs by stockpiling inventory and launching early holiday promotions. Major companies such as Amazon, Walmart and Target are advancing product orders and hosting sales events, such as Prime Day and "Black Friday in July," to encourage early shopping, and many also are promoting store brands and American-made goods as alternatives to higher-priced imported products. NRF and other industry associations have ramped up lobbying efforts, calling for pauses or reductions in new tariffs that result in higher costs to consumers.
