Get Software Engineering Fundamentals

Q: How long does it take to build the skills to get hired as a software engineer?

A: With serious focus and the right learning path, I believe most people could develop the skills needed in 3 months. But because you’re so awesome, probably even less.

Q: Is this a hands-on course?

A: Yes, we cover both theory and hands-on real-world application building. By the end of this course you'll have a fully deployed portfolio and a live full-stack project!

Q: Beyond the tech, what is important to becoming a software engineer?

A: I’ve always been a strong believer in character, high drive, focus, and hard work. People want to be around people that are excited, but also focused, and driven.

Q: Should I learn Python if I’m in school and we’re using another language?

A: In my senior year of college I asked my professor if I could do our assignments in Python instead of Java. He happily agreed and was actually excited to see me taking on something new. I was doing my senior research project on machine learning, so I wanted to get some more Python experience.

Q: Is the Fundamentals course a good choice if I am a beginner?

A: I designed the program to be ideal for the beginner. It then moves on to more advanced topics for those who are more intermediate in programming. Starting from the beginning, the course will be the perfect introduction to software engineering. In fact, you’ll learn why things are used the way they are and not just what to type.

Q: Are these skills relevant if I’m not interested in working a traditional 9-5?

A: Absolutely yes. I try my hardest not to learn anything just for the purpose of obtaining a job or making a boss happy. Rather, I focus on learning things that are going to grow my person and give me extremely valuable skills.

In fact, I’d argue that these skills could be even more valuable without a traditional 9-5 because you’ll have the time and energy to give 100% and apply these skills to so many different opportunities.

Q: Will this benefit an intermediate dev?

A: Yes. We go beyond just the basics and give you skills to advance you to senior levels. Additionally, this course lays the foundation for upcoming advanced courses. If you want to get the most from those courses, you'll want to start here.

Q: What happens after the sale closes?

A: The course will be closed until further notice. Get it while you can
