Medicare Outpatient Hospital Provider Public Use Files – Annual Update

The Medicare Outpatient Hospital datasets are provider-level datasets that include utilization and payments for outpatient services and procedures provided to Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries by hospitals under the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS).  The latest data available are for calendar year 2023.

Medicare Durable Medical Equipment, Devices & Supplies Public Use Files – Annual Update

The Medicare Durable Medical Equipment, Devices & Supplies datasets are provider-level datasets that summarize utilization and payments for Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) services provided to Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries.  Some datasets are aggregated by referring/ordering physicians and other healthcare professionals and other datasets are aggregated by supplier.  The latest data available are for calendar year 2023.

Medicare Advantage Geographic Variation Public Use File – Annual Update

The Medicare Advantage Geographic Variation PUF (MA GV PUF) includes utilization data for services provided to Medicare Advantage (MA) beneficiaries in inpatient hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient, durable medical equipment and professional services by state.  The dataset also includes demographic information for the MA population.  The file now includes data for calendar year 2022. 

Medicare Part D & Medicaid Opioid Prescribing Data and Mapping Tools – Annual Update

The Medicare Part D Opioid Prescribing Data and Mapping Tool and the Medicaid Opioid Prescribing Data and Mapping Tool are interactive, web-based visualization resources that present geographic comparisons of opioid prescribing rates.  These tools now include data for calendar year 2023.

Medicare Telehealth Trends – Quarterly Update

The Medicare Telehealth Trends Data highlights trends in the use of telehealth services between  January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2024.  The data allow for analysis of telehealth utilization by quarter, state, and various demographic characteristics.  

Medicare Enrollment – Monthly Update

The Medicare Monthly Enrollment Public Use File and Medicare Enrollment Dashboard present counts of Medicare beneficiaries with hospital/medical coverage and prescription drug coverage by geographic area and now include enrollee counts for March 2025.
