Today, the U.S. Census Bureau released new estimates from its National Experimental Well-Being Statistics (NEWS) project. NEWS is a research-driven project with the goal to improve how the Census Bureau measures income and poverty. This new release (version 2.5) includes an expanded set of years (2016, 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021) where these newly accessed data sources and advanced analysis techniques are applied. Estimates for 2018 were released as part of NEWS versions 1.0 and 2.0.
Business Trends and Outlook Survey
The Business Trends and Outlook Survey (BTOS) measures business conditions on an ongoing basis. BTOS experimental data products are representative of all employer businesses other than farms in the U.S. economy. The data allow greater insight into the state of the economy by providing continuous, timely information for key economic measures. Data are released biweekly and are available by sector, state, employment size and the 25 most populous metropolitan statistical areas. Scheduled for release July 17.
