A Message from the Principal
Hello Ravensworth Families,
I hope that you are having a great summer break! We have been working hard at Ravensworth to prepare for the upcoming school year. Our fabulous custodial staff has been doing a phenomenal job of cleaning our building - a tricky task since we are hosting several Fairfax County Park Authority programs over the summer months.
This special summer edition contains reminders about upcoming dates and information. We are looking forward to seeing your Ravens in less than a month!
Sincerely,
Erika Aspuria
Principal

Open House/Meet the Teacher
Open House will be Thursday, August 14th. Open House is a time where students can bring in school supplies (supplies purchased through the PTA will be in classrooms), see their classroom, and meet their teacher. Kindergarten students are invited to attend between 3:00-4:00 PM. Students in grades 1-6 are invited to visit their classrooms between 4:00-5:30 PM.
School Supply Lists can be found here.
New Student Orientation
Students new to Ravensworth in grades 1-6 are invited to our New Student Orientation on Thursday, August 14th from 3:30-4:00 PM. Join our counselors and other staff members in the cafeteria to learn about our school.

This school year FCPS elementary schools will have seven early release Wednesdays. The goal of these days is to provide elementary teachers with additional planning and professional development time. Learn more about the plan here.
Ravensworth will have a three-hour early release on the following days:
- September 10
- October 29
- November 12
- December 10
- February 18

Support Your Child’s Success in SIS ParentVUE
Signing up for a SIS ParentVUE account helps you to support your child’s academic success. Caregivers can view important information in ParentVUE such as attendance, grades, progress reports, and assessment scores.
Once you have activated a ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same ParentVUE account. A SIS ParentVUE app is available for Apple and Android devices.
Need help creating a SIS ParentVUE account? This video explains the steps. Find out more. To create a new account, please contact Teresa Dunbar tldunbar1@fcps.edu for an activation letter.
If you already have an account, be sure your contact information is up-to-date. Parents/guardians can update their phone numbers or email addresses in the Parent/Guardian section. More information can be found here.
