Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that the U.S. and China had struck a “framework for a TikTok deal,” days before another deadline over the popular social media app that could have banned it in the U.S.

Speaking from Madrid where he was meeting with a Chinese delegation to ease ongoing tensions between the two superpowers, Bessent offered no details about what the framework entailed. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are set to discuss the deal on Friday.
