We’ve just released LearnDash v4.25.0—and it marks a major milestone in our mission to make course payments faster, smarter, and easier to manage.

This update introduces our new PayPal Checkout integration, a modern, mobile-friendly replacement for PayPal Standard that offers a seamless checkout experience and enhanced security for both you and your students.

Even more exciting: this release includes the foundation of our new subscription management tools, a long-awaited feature for course creators using recurring payments. You can now:

• Allow students to update their payment method mid-subscription through the profile block

• Store billing details securely in the PayPal vault (not your site database)

• Give learners access to basic subscription controls in their profile

And we’re just getting started!

Next up, we’re adding:

• Automatic retries for failed payments

• A built-in process to help migrate existing PayPal Standard subscribers to Checkout

• Support for the new subscription tools with Stripe and Razorpay (where applicable)

Our goal is to build a modern commerce engine within LearnDash—so you can sell courses with less friction, more flexibility, and full confidence.

P.S. We’ve also released a few improvements to the Instructor Role and Group Registration add-ons.

You’ll now see updated messaging and naming in the admin to reflect this change. Time to make the switch.

Instructor Role v5.9.7

We’ve fixed some frustrating bugs and UI quirks:

• "Commissions" block is back on the dashboard

• Sidebar no longer overlaps content

• Frontend course editor now handles YouTube playlists correctly

• Commission payment logic now works across locales

• Improved dashboard layout on smaller screens

• Fewer warnings and cleaner performance

Group Registration v4.3.17

This release focuses on stability and WooCommerce compatibility:

• Sale prices now apply correctly in the cart

• Fixed 404 errors in Group Dashboard icons

• Cleaned up deprecation and PHP warnings

• Improved behavior in Setup Wizard for Group Code & Remove Users settings

• Hardened request handling for secure product loading

LearnDash LMS v4.25.1

New: Course Reviews Added to Core
The Course Reviews add-on is now built into LearnDash—no separate plugin required.

Fixes

• New quiz questions now default to 1 point

• Restored missing "Groups" submenu on the Groups editor page.

• Export buttons for User Course/Quiz Data are now visible on the Reports page.

Tweaks

• Improved compatibility with PHP 8.3.

• Removed open courses from report filters for clarity.
