September 18, 2025, marks the 78th anniversary of the United States Air Force!
With roots tracing back to 1907, the Air Force was officially established in 1947, making it the second youngest branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. Today, it stands as the world’s largest air force and the second largest service branch of the United States Department of War. As we celebrate the Air Force’s 78th Birthday, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS) salutes all Airmen, veterans, families, and spouses. Thank you, Air Force families, for your courage, dedication, and sacrifice to continue safeguarding our nation and its values.
