A prominent Russian dissident, Kasparov understood the risk Donald Trump posed to democracy from day one. He has been on the front lines, trying to raise awareness and understanding, comparing Trump's rhetoric and actions to those of autocratic leaders like Vladimir Putin. In this moment, when our institutions, the rule of law, and especially this week, the First Amendment, are under attack, there is no one better with whom to discuss what we can do about it.

Far too many people remain numb. Too many simply ignore or are unaware of what Trump is doing. This is a week to talk with friends about the seriousness of the moment—invite them to join us tomorrow morning, or share the video with them when I post it later tomorrow morning. (And let them know they can subscribe for free, so they’ll get notified when these live conversations start.) We cannot let this moment pass unnoticed. When they come for the comedians, we should all be worried.
