|
| | The UK's Chief Rabbi, Sir Ephraim Mirvis, said the attack was the "tragic result" of an "unrelenting wave of Jew hatred". Credit: Reuters | Two Jewish men killed in the attack outside Heaton Park Congregation Synagogue have been named by police as 66-year-old Melvin Cravitz and 53-year-old Martin Daulby. Greater Manchester Police said one of the victims was hit by police gunfire as they shot the attacker. Both men were local to the area. Three others injured in the attack, which occurred on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, remain in hospital, including another person hit by police gunfire. The attacker was shot dead by police at the scene, but three other suspects have been arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism. |
