UH and Texas both had a chance to make statements Saturday. Instead, the impressions they left were less than flattering. The Cougars were out of sorts from the start, falling into a big hole en route to a blowout home loss to No. 11 Texas Tech.

Over in The Swamp, a subpar Florida team jumped on the No. 9 Longhorns early and never trailed in sending the preseason No. 1 to its second loss in five games. Texas showed that it's not a very good team, writes Kirk Bohls.
