Holiday lights are going up around the neighborhood, and my eighth-grader’s already decked out her room for Christmas. Is it too soon for holiday decorations? 1. The number of green sea turtles in the wild has increased thanks to years of efforts to protect the species. Their numbers have gone up 28% since the 1970s, thanks to conservation efforts that included releasing baby turtles into the sea, protecting eggs, and teaching people not to hunt the animals. What are some things people can do to keep the ocean safe for turtles and other animals?

2. The National Toy Hall of Fame has selected its 2025 inductees. They include slime and the board games Battleship and Trivial Pursuit. Which toys or games would you nominate for the Hall of Fame?

3. Most kids stop napping in school when they’re very young, but some teachers and students across the US have started nap clubs. A study of young people in China found a link between napping and improved mood, behavior, and academic performance. Still, some people say school is for learning, not sleeping. What do you think?
