Letter from the Principals

Dear Families,

As we move into the heart of November, I am filled with gratitude for our community and proud of the learning happening in our building every day.

Last week, we held a wonderful celebration for Veteran’s Day. It was a privilege to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. We sincerely thank our students, staff, and families who helped make this event so meaningful, teaching our children the importance of service and sacrifice.

Progress reports were sent home with your child this week. Please take this opportunity to sit down with your child and review their progress together. These reports are a valuable tool for reflection. We encourage you to discuss their successes and identify areas for growth, which helps them set their own goals for the next quarter.

Our commitment to maintaining a positive and productive learning environment is constant. We continually reinforce what it means to be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible in every part of our building, from the classrooms to the bus and cafeteria. This expectation extends to how our students interact with all adults—whether they are teachers, specialists, support staff, or substitutes. We believe that mutual respect between students and adults is the foundation of a successful school experience.

We are so excited for our annual Thanksgiving Lunch next Friday! Please look for detailed information and schedule details as we changed lunch time to accommodate many guests. We look forward to sharing this opportunity with our community.

Our Quarterly Awards Recognition ceremony is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, December 3rd. Please note that we are making some important changes to the awards process this quarter to limit the disruptions to our school day and maximize our learning. We will send out detailed information regarding these updates early next week.  Our primary students will be recognized in the morning and our upper grades will be recognized in the afternoon, so it does not interfere with specials.

As the weather turns colder, please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. Hats, gloves, and warm coats are essential, as we hold recess outside whenever the weather permits.

Finally, please remind your child about the importance of being kind to each other. A simple act of kindness can make a huge difference in someone’s day and helps keep our school a happy and welcoming place for everyone.

Thank you for being such supportive partners in your child’s education. We wish you a beautiful weekend.

Warmly,

Ms. Rucinski and Ms. Nelson
