Game Day Rules: Let's Keep It Safe and Fun!

As we cheer on our Wolverines, we want to make sure everyone has a fun and safe time at the games:

  • No Powder

  • No Artificial Noise Makers: This includes whistles, bells, clappers, and thundersticks. (Cheerleaders are allowed to use megaphones, but fans are not.)

  • No Horns or Speakers

Let's Go Wolverines!

Sportsmanship: Please Lead by Example

We love the energy and excitement our fans bring to our games! When we come together to watch our teams compete, remember that good sportsmanship is a huge part of the fun.

At West Potomac, we count on our students, parents, and community members to show respect and set a positive example for everyone.

This means we need to cheer loud for our team, but we must be respectful to all the people around us. Please remember:

  • No Bad Language: Don't use curse words (profanity).

  • No Put-Downs: Do not say or do things that are mean or disrespectful to anyone. This includes the referees, the other team, the coaches, school staff, or other fans.

Showing respect is not a choice — it's an expectation. If someone breaks these rules, they could be asked to leave the game and school property.

Olivia Garey

Nominating Olivia for October Athlete of the Month based on her performance (see stats) team contribution and leadership. Olivia is showing extraordinaire leadership on the court and as a team Captain. She is playing with passion and competitive fire. The role she is in as a 6 rotation outside hitter brings a lot of pressure. She has taken on that pressure and remains focused under the pressure and has delivered on crucial plays that have made a huge impact. She is working hard to set a standard for the team while trying to drive accountability and teamwork. She is our go to player!

Performance highlights/ Stats:

Leading team in serving aces with 39, leading the team in hitting with total kills – 310, hitting .248 and averaging 14-18  kills per match. 2nd in digs with 101. Leads team in blocking with 18 block assists.

Voted Team Captain as a Jr

1st team All-District – had 2nd highest votes/ ranked top 2 in District for hitting % and kills

Anes Celebic

Anes is the district Libero of the Year for the second year in a row and every other coach who brought a libero up in our district meeting started their conversation by admitting that Anes is unquestionably the best in our district. He has over 300 digs this season, averages a serve receive of over 2.3 (which is phenomenal), and averages 5.3 digs per set (the next closest player in our district is under 4 per set) which puts him top in the state per VHSL stats and 3rd in the nation per MaxPreps. He’s also a leader on the court and has taken on the role of teaching our other defensive players. He runs the defense on our court, supports on and off court communication, and is generally one of the most invested players. He’s really got an unparalleled skill.
