Nebraska schools are in the early stages of data science education, with only seven schools offering lessons or full programs, a report from Data Science 4 Everyone shows. The report highlights the importance of expanding data science education, especially as artificial intelligence grows, and suggests integrating data science into existing subjects such as math and science because of budget constraints.

Wildcat Manufacturing, a student-run business at Oak Ridge High School in Tennessee, is participating in a multi-year project that will create eight life-size statues of people of historical importance to the city. The student entrepreneurs will use pictures, 3D techniques, AI and other advanced manufacturing methods to create the first statue, which will honor Kenneth Nichols, who oversaw operations of the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge.

Patrice Wade, a teacher at Guilford Preparatory Academy in Greensboro, N.C., writes about transforming the school's technology lab into a place where middle-school students thrive.
