As an intern at Cedarwood Church in Rosemount, Minnesota, Alex Perla Castillo saw the uncertainty the Latino community is experiencing around immigration. Feeling called to provide spiritual guidance and resources to both English- and Spanish-speaking communities locally and in Guatemala, where he’s from, Alex began Bethel’s Master of Divinity program.
“Becoming a student at Bethel Seminary has equipped me to better serve my community, continue learning, grow, and deepen my spiritual journey,” he says.
Alex appreciates Bethel’s flexible delivery options, which allow him to balance work, family, and volunteering while still going to seminary. And the diversity of his classmates—in age, gender, culture, and political and theological views—fosters discussions that are challenging and help him grow both personally and as a ministry leader.
Through its Transformative Education Model—combining biblical foundations, spiritual and personal formation, and leadership development—Bethel Seminary is equipping leaders like Alex to lead with confidence and make an impact in our rapidly changing world. |
