A FINAL FULL WEEK BEFORE THANKSGIVING BREAK!
Dear Fairhill Families,
It is a great week to be a Tiger as we enter our final full week of instruction before the Thanksgiving holiday!
This week marks the start of a brand-new Literacy unit (unit 3) across most grade levels.
- In our younger grades, students will be learning literacy skills while exploring the concept of community.
- In our upper grades, students will dive into government, developing a deeper understanding of how our systems work and why they matter.
These units offer wonderful opportunities for students to think critically, ask questions, and make meaningful connections to the world around them. We cannot wait to see the thoughtful discussions and investigations happening in classrooms!
Did you know that as we continue our work in Language Arts, each unit is paired with a student workbook that goes home at the end of the instructional period? By the end of this week, you should see your child’s completed Unit 2 workbook. We encourage you to take a moment to look through it with your child, celebrate their progress, and reflect on the learning from the past three weeks.
We wish you a productive and wonderful week! We look forward to seeing many of you next Tuesday, November 25th, at our annual Thanksgiving Lunch. Please check the details below this message for the serving schedule and additional information.

15th ANNUAL FAIRHILL PUMPKIN PIE RUN
The Pumpkin Pie Run is back!
Mark your calendar for Nov. 22nd at 9am. There will be a 3k run open to all 3rd - 6th graders, a 1k run open to all 1st - 6th graders, and a 600-yard fun run open to kinders only. Parents are welcome to run with their students. Don’t miss this GREAT FAIRHILL event! Click HERE to register for the event

Attention FCPS Families!
The Federal Impact Aid Survey is now available in paper.
Please look in your child’s Tuesday Folder today for the paper copy. PLEASE COMPLETE ONE FORM FOR EACH CHILD IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD. AND RETURN THE COMPLETED FORM TO SCHOOL TOMORROW.
The Federal Impact Aid program provides money to districts that enroll federally connected students. Help FCPS secure funding from the Impact Aid Program by helping us identify:
- Military families.
- Federally connected families.
- Families living on a military base.
Please complete the form even if you are not military or federally connected. Please complete one form for each child in your household. Remember that only the parent that registered the student with FCPS (the ‘enrolling parent’) can fill out the Impact Aid Survey form online, but either parent can fill out the Impact Aid Survey paper copy.
Your support will ensure that we receive the resources for which we are eligible.
If you have multiple children in Fairfax County Public Schools, please fill out a form for each child. You will know you have completed all of the forms when you get to the final page, and see a green check next to each of their names.
We need your help to make the 25-26 yearbook the best it can be! When you take photos at Fairhill events, please upload your candid photos to the yearbook’s photo albums: https://plicbooks.com/go/L4WV4P . There is a dropdown menu to choose from, from grade levels to special events!

Fairhill Elementary’s Yearbook, “Etched in Stone” is now on sale! Cost is $20, and must be made online at Strawbridge Yearbooks.
No extra copies will be ordered, so secure your child’s memories today! Deadline to place an order is March 20th!
