Prime Minister Mark Carney named Marc Miller as his new Canadian identity and culture minister in a cabinet shuffle on Monday prompted by the resignation of Steven Guilbeault late last week.
Mr. Carney also named Joël Lightbound as his Quebec lieutenant, on top of his current job as the minister of government transformation, public works and procurement.
Mr. Guilbeault held both the culture portfolio and the Quebec lieutenant job before he left the post Thursday over concerns the government was walking away from efforts to combat climate change.
He had also been the minister responsible for nature, which is now being given to Julie Dabrusin, in addition to her work as environment minister. Her new full title is Minister of the Environment, Climate Change and Nature.
