“Quick one, Alan” he said. “Should I be worried my reps are using ChatGPT to
write every outbound message?”
I asked him one question: “Are they getting more replies?”
He paused. “…Not really.”
Most reps using AI today are using it like a fancy tool. They feed in a weak
prompt, copy-paste a job title, and expect magic.
Instead of getting better, your outbound is getting worse, longer, more
generic, and weirdly robotic.
AI won’t replace you, your knowledge. Even less if you do
high-revenue-impactful activities. But if you don't, a seller who knows how to
use it will replace you.
Here’s how I coach reps to do it right:
