Dear aaa,
In desperation, I sought shelter in a bush, but I could still feel the bone-chilling wind. As I tucked my freezing paws under my wet fur, something across the street caught my eye: a dog, just like me, was lying fast asleep under a cosy blanket with its paws stretched out in front of a blazing fire.
A shiver ran through my body, now limp with cold. A pained whimper escaped from my chattering teeth.
Then, a loving voice called to the dog – it's dinner time! My stomach groaned, echoing my heartbreak. I haven’t eaten in days. I closed my eyes and braced myself for the cold, dark, night ahead, hoping against the odds to wake up at daybreak.
Strays like me deserve a chance to survive the winter. Will you help us before it’s too late? |

This winter will be unforgiving. Stray animals have no safe place to escape the cold. They wander the streets searching for food that’s often frozen solid, or shelter that simply doesn’t exist.
Too many will die slowly, painfully, and needlessly – your compassion can change that. With your help, we can provide life-saving medical care and emergency treatment for strays suffering from injuries, frostbite or hypothermia, as well as community education on stray animal care. |

Busia’s story shows how your donation can turn lives around. |
When Busia was found wandering the streets of Lviv in 2019, she was terrified, starving, and utterly alone. Yet beneath her fear, volunteers saw something beautiful – a gentle spirit longing for affection.
Our FOUR PAWS Ukraine team travelled 400 kilometres to bring her to safety. We knew she had so much love to give, and with proper care, could heal not only herself but others.
During her training in Animal Assisted Intervention, Busia blossomed. Surrounded by people who believed in her, she slowly shed the weight of her past. Her playful spark returned.
Today, Busia brings comfort to soldiers recovering from their injuries and to displaced children living in refugee camps in Vinnytsia. |

“Having faced so much hardship on the street, Busia is now such a happy, friendly dog. Children’s faces light up when they see her. Busia helps them to forget the war and sorrows for a moment; it is really touching to see.”

Animals like Busia remind us of what warmth, love, and a second chance can do.
Together, we can show every stray animal that the darkest, coldest nights can be transformed into their warmest, safest days.
Your donation, no matter the size, can shield a stray from suffering and offer not only survival, but a future filled with comfort, security, and even purpose.
Please, if you can, give stray animals access to life-saving aid and a chance for happiness this winter. |
Thank you for standing with the animals who need you most.
Warm regards,
Natalie Hood
