Lamar Jackson stood at the podium Sunday after a 24-0 win over the Bengals and was asked if the game is feeling normal again for the Ravens’ offense.
“Yes … starting to,” he replied. “It felt like us, and we just have to keep pushing the envelope.”
The 7-7 Ravens, who host the 11-3 Patriots on Sunday night, aren’t quite the nasty old Ravens they have been over much of the last 25 years. Jackson, who missed three games in October with a hamstring injury, isn’t playing like a two-time MVP. The Ravens’ defense has improved, but still lost consecutive games to the Bengals and Steelers recently to damage the team’s playoff hopes.
But the Ravens are rounding into form as the season hits the final stretch. And they match up well against the Patriots, who have struggled to stop the run and couldn’t protect a 21-point lead in last week’s loss to the Bills.
