Is your generation cursed or blessed? You can surely spin it either way. Those within Generation X, according to our analysis, are likely to be the biggest financial losers. Remember that when you hear grumbles from millennials or members of Gen Z. And yet there is also some decent evidence to suggest older folk, counted as those who are 55 and up, are having more fun—at least when it comes to indulging in sex, drugs and booze—than younger people. (Could this, somehow or other, be cause and effect?)

Meanwhile, there’s a new and fast-growing generation on the block: Gen Alpha. Nearly 2bn people have been born since 2010 and the first of this cohort will soon be adults.
