What lies ahead for the moviegoing crowd in 2026? The outlook isn’t great: The future of the Warner Bros. and Netflix deal, decried by many, is up in the air; AI slop is lurking on the horizon; the promises of the Online Streaming Act seem to be evaporating before our eyes. So what’s a movie-lover to do? Film critic Barry Hertz has some ideas.
