This week, Englewood’s downtown district, Olde Englewood Village, welcomed its newest restaurant addition: Chophouse285, on Dearborn Street. A slick steakhouse by night and approachable lunch spot during the day, Chophouse285 shares ownership with Farlow’s on the Water, also in Englewood, and one of Sarasota County’s best riverfront restaurants.
The new 10,000-square-foot restaurant infuses its indoor and outdoor seating with a coastal Floridian atmosphere—think plush velvet steakhouse-style seating and Prohibition-era salvaged wood flourishes.
At lunch, guests can anticipate laid-back but elevated options like a mushroom confit salad, green goddess ceviche made with Northern Pacific rockfish, and 16 different sandwich and taco offerings. For dinner, the restaurant showcases aged steaks in a variety of cuts with appetizer selections like fried Bahamian lobster and shrimp and grit cakes with lemon butter.
“We wanted to make sure we got everything just right,” co-owner Keith Farlow said in a press release. “The menu, the kitchen, the interior—we didn’t take anything for granted. Every detail has implemented to fulfill our vision of the highest-quality steakhouse, where everyone feels welcome.”
Chophouse285 is now open for lunch and dinner at 285 Dearborn St., Englewood. For more information, call (941) 777-2467 or click here.
