If you’ve ever looked at your DAX and thought, “the formula is correct, so why
is this number wrong?”, filter context is usually the reason. DAX doesn’t
calculate on the whole table. It only works on the data that’s currently
filtered by the visual, slicers, or relationships. That part feels simple at
first, but it’s often what blocks people when they try to do more advanced
calculations.
In this week’s video, I break filter context down in a practical way, showing
how it actually affects your numbers when you build reports, not just how it’s
defined in theory.
