Boys Basketball defended home court this week with two district wins, hosting Fairfax on Tuesday and West Potomac on Friday. The Stallions leaned on their defensive intensity in both contests, defeating Fairfax 52-39 and West Potomac 41-33. With the pair of victories, South County improves to 5-1 in the district, continuing to establish itself as one of the league’s toughest teams to score against.
Girls Basketball hit the road for two district matchups and came away with dominant performances against Fairfax and West Potomac. The Stallions rolled past Fairfax 68-20, led by junior Natalya Wooten’s 23 points and 10 rebounds, before earning a 54-30 win at West Potomac, where junior Anna Marsh paced the team with 15 points and 5 rebounds. What continues to set this group apart is its balance, multiple scoring options combined with relentless team defense, as the Stallions remain undefeated in district play.
Gymnastics traveled to Lake Braddock this week to compete in the annual Beauty and the Beast meet, a unique event showcasing both gymnastics and wrestling. The Stallions continue to show steady progress, with consistent improvement across all four apparatuses as the team builds confidence and sharpens their routines heading into the heart of the season.
Wrestling also took part in the Braddock Beauty and the Beast meet, giving fans the chance to watch Stallion gymnastics and wrestling compete simultaneously. South County opened with a hard-fought team win over Lake Braddock before facing a strong West Springfield squad, where the Stallions earned several individual victories but fell short against a veteran lineup. The team also traveled to Lafayette for the two-day Ram Rumble, finishing 17th out of 34 teams against elite competition. Nine of the twelve wrestlers advanced to day two, with Aaryan Sharma placing 6th despite an early day-two injury and Ah’Mir Bracey finishing top eight, highlighting a resilient weekend for the Stallions.
Swim and Dive celebrated Senior Night on Friday while hosting West Potomac, and the Stallions delivered a strong all-around performance. Both swimmers and divers posted numerous personal bests, contributing valuable points throughout the meet. It was a great evening of recognition and competition, capped off by team victories for both the boys and girls.
The Stallion Indoor Track teams competed at the VA Showcase this weekend at the Virginia Beach Sports Center, taking on a deep field from across the state. The girls had several standout performances, led by Kyla Johnson, who placed 9th in the high jump, and Kendall Williams, who recorded season best times in both the 1000m and 1600m. On the boys’ side, Charles Brown finished an impressive 12th in the 55m dash, while Alex Featherly posted a season best in the 1600m. Overall, the meet provided strong competition and valuable experience as the Stallions continue to build momentum this season.
