Let’s talk about the difference between moisture and coating, because most products blur the line.

A lot of “moisturizing” products make your hair feel soft at first… but that softness comes from a coating sitting on top of the hair. By morning, that coating attracts dirt, looks greasy, and doesn’t give you any true hydration.
 
Only three products actually moisturize inside the hair shaft:
Everything else is surface-level softness — temporary, not transformative.
