I wasn’t going to write about politics today, but something really got to me. Yesterday, in a shocking interaction, Trump berated CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins. We have seen him do this to a degree with other female reporters. He has typically been polite to Collins (unlike other female reporters who ask questions he doesn’t like) but yesterday was horrible. Of course it had to do with the fact that Collins was asking about the Epstein Files. He lost it. He’s scared. “It’s time for the country to get onto something else….something people care about.” Trump claimed he was cleared, and suggested he had been targeted. You could see he was trying to remain calm, but then snapped. Ironically, and for me what was the sure sign he is scared: Trump accused Collins of never smiling, ever. This is such a sexist and misogynistic attitude towards women. It is a common remark—I’ve gotten it many times on the street. It is an attitude that says we are only on this planet to be pleasing to men. I find it personally offensive. Similar to calling a female reporter “piggy,” as he did a few weeks ago. The Epstein Files are a blaring, horrendous, criminal extension of this attitude towards women. I cannot wait for it to be completely exposed as the corrupt, sick network it is. And see the perpetrators behind bars. Here is another drawing from a few years ago. I meant to do a post about dogs, since the Westminster was yesterday. I’ll share tomorrow! Thanks for being here. You guys are the best. I have hope, we can do this. You're currently a free subscriber to Seeing Things. For the full experience, upgrade your subscription. |
