Participate in Field Testing of Cost Measures Now through February 27
As a reminder, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and its contractor, Acumen, LLC, are conducting field testing of three episode-based cost measures until February 27, 2026. The following episode-based cost measures are currently being field tested before consideration of their potential use in the cost performance category of the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) of the Quality Payment Program (QPP):
Breast Cancer Screening
Non-Pressure Ulcers
Parkinsonism Syndromes and Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Clinicians and clinician groups who meet the attribution requirements for at least one of the measures will receive a Field Test Report. All members of the public are invited to provide feedback on the draft measure specifications through an online survey, which closes on February 27, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Participation is voluntary.
Access Field Test Reports
You or your clinician group can download your Field Test Report(s) via the Quality Payment Program website if you or your clinician group meet the minimum number of episodes (e.g., 10 episodes for Breast Cancer Screening or 20 episodes for Non-Pressure Ulcers or Parkinsonism Syndromes and MS) for at least one measure.
Field Test Reports contain information about your cost performance based on draft measure specifications. This information will be for field testing purposes only. The measurement period for these Field Test Reports is January 1 to December 31, 2024. Please refer to the Field Test Report Access User Guide available on the CMS.gov QPP Cost Measure Information pages for guidance on accessing your Field Test Report.
Provide Field Testing Feedback
You may provide feedback via online survey now through 11:59 PM ET on February 27, 2026. Additionally, all members of the public—regardless of whether they receive a report—are invited to provide feedback on the draft measure specifications through the online survey. Please feel free to share this message with anyone who may be interested in these activities. Click on the links below to access the surveys:
