Please be aware of construction access and protections at the south end of Long Bridge Park near Crystal Drive and 12th Street South for the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority’s Alexandria Fourth Track Project, led by CSX.
- Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday
- Every day crews will place mats across the sidewalk and ramp for construction vehicles to access the work site via a gate; a flagger will guide traffic through the gate area
- Vehicles will include trucks, trailers, cranes, and more
This is the sole entrance available to the contractor for work in this area. The work is expected to start in March 2026 and conclude by the end of 2028.

Weekend rail service closures at Crystal City Metro continue this weekend through June 2026 in service of the Crystal City East Entrance construction project. Service will resume during the week.
Additional rail work by WMATA will also close rail service at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metro and Potomac Yard Metro stations for three weekends in March and May.
Shuttles will replace trains during rail closures. WMATA has also added an express shuttle from Pentagon City Metro to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) during rail closures.
