Dear Spartan families,

Our next PTSA meeting is scheduled for March 10th! This is an in-person meeting at the school! PLEASE RSVP HERE.

We'll have a brief PTSA meeting and then we'll have officers from the Fairfax County Police Department present their program "Kids' in Today's Society" - a conversation around current trends in social media, narcotics, and mental health concerns in the teen population.

And looking ahead - we're looking at a PTSA Social event (another *in-person* event) on April 10th at Milk & Honey. Stay tuned for details!

Finally, it may be hard to believe, but the WSHS All Night Grad Party team is looking for 2027 parents who are ready to lead the planning efforts - and especially to coordinate their fundraising efforts through the Jiffy Lube Live concerts this coming summer. Breaking news! - At the Fairfax County Council PTA level, Mikailah Williams received FIRST PLACE and Kiana Kamran received THIRD PLACE in their categories and will continue on the Virginia PTA level!!

The winning entries are headed to the next level competition.

The art show to showcase the entries will be Sunday March 8 in the WSHS sports lobby.

There will be a small presentation, time for students to discus their artwork, and snacks!

• I joined last year / this past spring.  Do I need to join again?  YES!  Our membership year lasts from July 1 - June 30, so if you haven't joined for the current year in the last few weeks, please join for this year!
• Why should I join?  This is our school.  We can keep it a great school by doing our part, or we can hope others do it for us.  Be part of the people doing their part, and help support an organization that advocates for our children and schools!  See our list of other reasons at https://wshsptsa.net/join/membership/ 
• If I join, will I be asked to do things?  You can just pay your dues and not do anything else if you want.  Totally up to you.  We'll share volunteer opportunities and opportunities for donations to teacher appreciation and other events, but joining doesn't commit you to doing anything else.  The most important step is joining.  I hear too often "I didn't join because I don't have time to do things." Don't let that stop you.  If that's the case, we're happy to just take your financial support-- we'll put it to good use!
