Hello McNair Upper Families,
This morning we held our school-wide MUES Spelling Bee. We had 23 students participate in it, which represented all of our 3rd-6th grade classrooms. We are so very proud of all of our Mustangs who participated in this annual event. They did a wonderful job and put in such great effort. Please join me in congratulating Liesha M. from Ms. Kelley's 5th grade class as she is this year's MUES Spelling Bee winner! Liesha will now move on to represent at McNair Upper Elementary at FCPS' division-wide Spelling Bee.
This past Wednesday we had a midyear House Pep Rally where we took the time to review "The MUES Way" with all of our Mustangs. We spent much of our time together celebrating what students are doing well, while also revisiting the school expectations that all of our students need to continue working on to best reflect "The MUES Way." Our goal is to finish the year strong so that all Mustangs can earn a school-wide celebratory reward.
Don't forget that the PTA will be hosting BINGO Night this evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at McNair Elementary. We hope that you and your family are able to join us for this fun-filled event.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the warmer temperatures!
Your Proud Principal,
Mrs. Goddin

We are excited to announce that our school is now using the new Raptor Visitor Management System (VMS). This upgrade is part of our school’s and FCPS’ ongoing commitment to enhancing school safety and streamlining the process for visitors at our school. The VMS ensures that no visitor is on the sex offender registry.
For most visitors, the user experience will be the same when you check-in at the front office.
But now there is also an app, which can make check-in’s even faster at school. Visitors who choose to download the RaptorSafe App and create a Raptor Passport can pre-verify their information before they get to school. The app will give you a QR code you can use when you check-in at school.
If you have questions or need assistance with the new system, please contact our front office. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our schools safe!

The Library of Things is up and running! Students have started checking out games and puzzles to bring home! We are looking for a few more to add to our collection.
Here is a wish list of games and puzzles I think students would enjoy playing. Also, if you have any gently used or new games/ puzzles you are getting rid of I will take them. You can send them in with your student. Thank you for considering donating to our Library of Things!
If you have any questions you can email me at vlsoni@fcps.edu.
