Happy Friday Fox Mill Families,
Sixth graders made their way to Rachel Carson for a school tour. It is hard to believe that it is that time of the year already.
We had a spectacular talent show last night. We cannot wait to see the students perform again tonight. The show starts at 6pm. Be early, so you won’t miss any of the performances.
A FEW UPDATES
In honor of Read Across America Week, Friday, March 6th will be an all-school Pajama Day! Students are invited to wear their favorite pajamas to celebrate the joy of reading.
We look forward to a fun and cozy day of learning!
Also on March 6, 2026, Megan Wagner Lloyd will speak to students in grades 3–6 in honor of Read Across America Week.
Megan Wagner Lloyd is an American children’s author who writes bestselling and award-winning books for young readers. She creates graphic novels, picture books, and middle-grade fiction that many children love to read. Megan often collaborates closely with illustrators to bring her stories to life through both words and pictures.
She is best known for her popular graphic novels Allergic, Squished, and Winging It, created by illustrator Michelle Mee Nutter. She also co-created the Super Pancake series with illustrator Abhi Alwar.
In addition to graphic novels, Megan has written picture books such as Finding Wild, Fort-Building Time, and Paper Mice, as well as the middle-grade novel Haven: A Small Cat's Big Adventure. Her stories often explore themes of family, friendship, nature, and the everyday experiences of childhood.

Celebrating the Power of School Breakfast
Multiple studies show that school breakfasts are important in supporting overall student health by improving students’ diets and combating food insecurity. Students who eat school breakfast consume more fruit and fiber than their peers.
This National School Breakfast Week, FCPS Food and Nutrition Services reminds families that they provide flavorful, healthy, sustainable, and student-focused meals. New menu items have been launched this year based on student feedback. Would you like to know what’s for breakfast? Nutrition Services has printable menus available.
