Dear readers, I realize it’s a little late to change Julius Caesar’s mind, but I still think that spring, with its cheerful greenery and sense of promise, would be a better kickoff to a new year than January. Has any winter in recent memory in the States been a better proof of concept? I’ll set aside those long-shot calendrical goals for another day: I am here to share 58 books to watch for this spring. You’ll see new nonfiction by Beverly Gage and Patrick Radden Keefe, memoirs by Liza Minnelli and Arsenio Hall and engrossing true crime narratives. There are plenty of novels, of course — by Tana French, Karan Mahajan, Tom Perrotta, Rainbow Rowell. Finally, on an upcoming Book Review podcast, the author Andy Weir will discuss his novel “Project Hail Mary” and its upcoming movie adaptation. We’d love to hear any question you have for Weir, and you can submit them using this form. See you next time. Like this email?
