Hello, outdoors lovers! I'm so excited about the progress of the remarkable trail being built in Clear Creek Canyon by Jeffco Open Space, as described in my story this week. The first 1.75-mile segment opened in 2021. A second segment (1.5 miles) opened in November, and another 1.5-mile segment will open later this year. The canyon
is breathtaking, the trail is wide enough to handle lots of folks comfortably, and the engineering involved is amazing. Do yourself a favor and check it out this spring. Heads upHere's
how crazy Denver weather can be: High temperatures Thursday through Saturday are forecast in the 70s, according to the National Weather Service, but Sunday brings a shock with a high of 39 and a chance of snow. The northern mountains can expect 2-6 inchs of snow Saturday night, according to the OpenSnow forecasting and reporting service. ,

A cyclist rides the newest segment of the recreation trail in Clear Creek Canyon on Tuesday, which
includes a viaduct in a narrow section. The viaduct is built on a deck supported by concrete pillars, reminiscent of the elevated decks of Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon.
