Principal's Note

Dear Holmes families,

Our students are helping lead a renewed interest in cursive writing. Our after-school cursive club, started by Ms. Sherisse Kenerson, has grown quickly as students develop the ability to read and write in cursive-an important skill many had not previously experienced. While there is ongoing discussion about the role of cursive in today’s technology-driven world, many believe it can support skills such as spelling and reading comprehension. Most importantly, our students are fully engaged, taking pride in their progress and enjoying both the creativity and sense of accomplishment that come with learning something new. Additionally, on Thursday, March 26^th, we will be hosting the Quarter 2 Honor Roll Celebration during SOAR in order to acknowledge the hard work and academic achievement of our students who earned all A’s or A’s & B’s on their 2^nd quarter report card. Students will be receiving invitations through their SOAR class. Congratulations and keep up the great work
