Welcoming Back Assistant Principal Denise Cash-Pinckney!

Island Creek is thrilled to welcome back Denise Cash-Pinckney as Assistant Principal, effective April 1. Following the retirement of Ms. Baxter on March 27, Ms. Cash-Pinckney will return to a community where she previously made a lasting impact during the 2024–2025 school year.

An experienced leader within Fairfax County Public Schools, Ms. Cash-Pinckney has served as an MTSS Resource Teacher, School Testing Coordinator,  Advanced Academics Resource Teacher, and Classroom Teacher. Her background also includes extensive service at J.R. Ingram Elementary in North Carolina as a Literacy Specialist and Curriculum Support Coach.

Ms. Cash-Pinckney is a data-driven educator dedicated to equity, staff development, and fostering strong community relationships. She holds a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University, where she is currently pursuing her doctoral degree.

Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
