SCHS ATTENDANCE INFORMATION 2025-26
Recently, we have seen an increase in students leaving campus without following proper check-out procedures. This has resulted in inaccurate records regarding student location and safety. To ensure our staff can account for every student and to retrieve students in the least disruptive way to classroom instruction, the following procedures are required, effective immediately:
-
2-Hour Advance Notice Required: All early dismissal requests must be submitted at least two hours in advance. We will no longer process last-minute phone calls or messages for immediate pickup. Please plan appointments accordingly, as requests failing to meet this lead time will not be honored.
-
Illness & Clinic Protocol: If a student feels ill, they MUST report to the School Clinic. Students will only be dismissed for medical reasons after being evaluated by the clinic staff and checked out from that location.
-
Official Office Check-Out: All students leaving early must physically check out through the Main Office. Any student who leaves campus without following this procedure will be marked with an unexcused absence.
-
Attendance Corrections: If a student is marked UNV for a specific period due to lateness or a clerical error, the student must speak with that teacher directly. The teacher will then update the attendance or notify the attendance team. The Attendance Offices will not alter period-specific attendance without teacher verification.
These procedures are in place to ensure student safety and a focused learning environment. We thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain an accurate and secure campus.
Report a Full-Day Absence-The fastest way is to use ParentVUE.

Message from Dr. Khoshaba
Greetings, Stallion Nation,
Happy first day of Spring, Stallions! A new season means fresh energy and bright beginnings. Let’s charge into Spring with Stallion pride and make every day count. Here’s to a season full of spirit, growth, and success! Now, on to this week’s reflections!
Student and Staff Belonging
Hoops, Hype, and a Whole Lot of Heart
Our first-ever SoCo Basketball Bash was an unforgettable night filled with energy, connection, and Stallion pride. A true highlight was watching our Best Buddies students take the court, competing against parents for two quarters and our staff for the other two—proving that teamwork and joy are always a winning combination. Beyond the impressive athleticism on display, the evening was made even more special by the Singing Stallions’ beautiful rendition of the National Anthem, our student announcers bringing the game to life, and standout players Makyah Mason and Lailia Tull stepping up as outstanding referees. It was truly a ball-er event from start to finish, reminding us all that when our community comes together, we score big in more ways than one.
High Quality Instruction
In AP Psychology, Mrs. Jeanblanc creates an exceptional, student-centered classroom that sets the gold standard for meaningful learning. Like a skilled psychologist guiding a breakthrough session, she carefully uncovers student thinking—using strategies like a gratitude warm-up and real-world connections such as Netflix streaming—to make complex concepts both accessible and relevant. Her intentional design, including clear learning outcomes, multiple exposures, and a focus on student strengths, builds both confidence and deep understanding. With continued opportunities to expand student collaboration and ownership, her classroom will further evolve into a model of highly effective, transformative instruction.
School Culture:
A Pot of Gold for Our Staff
Our Leadership class brightened St. Patrick’s Day by creating the “Lucky to Have Teachers and Staff Like You” area, offering a thoughtful spread of rainbow-themed treats. Like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, this gesture reminded our staff just how valued and appreciated they are. Their creativity and care turned a simple celebration into a meaningful moment of connection and gratitude across our school community.
Stronger Together: Connecting Families and Schools
The 2026 Special Education Family Conference, Stronger Together: Connecting Families and Schools, will take place on Saturday, April 18, at Marshall High School. During this no-cost, in-person event, families will have the opportunity to hear a keynote address from internationally renowned educator and advocate, Dr. Shelley Moore, connect to resources and other families, and participate in afternoon sessions.
FCPS families are invited to register to attend this year’s conference. Childcare, accommodations, and language interpretation are available. Families are also invited to register to serve as an event volunteer by Thursday, March 19. Volunteer hours will be awarded to student volunteers. Visit the FCPS 2026 Special Education Family Conference webpage for updates and more details.
Club Corner:
The Doctors of Dental Medicine (DDM) offers students a valuable opportunity to explore dentistry, oral health, and a wide range of healthcare careers. Through guest speakers, including local dentists and dental students, members gain firsthand insight into the profession and the pathways to entering the field. Open to all students, the club fosters curiosity, connection, and exploration, even for those simply interested in science or medicine. Sponsored by Valarie Hansen, the DDM Club also shares summer opportunities and connects students with resources and professionals to support their future goals.
Wishing all our Stallions a weekend full of warmth and joy.
