For example, the price of healthcare, the large portion of the population who lack insurance and the broader issue of government trust and transparency came together in staffer Austin Wood’s recent cover story “Hello, Doctor. Anyone There?” In it, he took an in-depth look at a novel telehealth service that would have brought low-cost medical care to Garland, a community that lacks a hospital but has many uninsured people. Poor communication, distrust of city leaders and private business and an unusual financing method doomed the program.

But no matter whether the story is about health, rising prices, or politics, if you’re invested in it, our staff stands ready to commit their time to reporting. Regardless of the issues and coverage areas, if the story is important to you, it’s important to us.
