| Federal agents in Florida have made more immigration arrests so far this year than in any other part of the country, a new report shows.
The Miami field office for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement — which covers Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands — tallied about 120 arrests per day in 2026. The pace reflects the level of cooperation Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a staunch backer of President Donald Trump's mass deportation efforts, has given to the federal crackdown.
Florida's ranking also comes as DeSantis has pushed back against several conservative Florida sheriffs who have called for a softer, more selective approach.
