Techstars Startup Digest Toronto

Locally curated opportunities, talks, workshops, and other events for those interested in creating a startup, growing one, or who want to connect with startups in the Greater Toronto Area.

Hello Toronto startups and entrepreneurs! There's good news for the Black founders out there, as Toronto's BKR Capital recently announced they have secured an initial $20M for their second Black Innovation Fund, and hope to reach $50M to invest in twenty-five startups.

Is your product at a point where you're looking to export? Sign up today for the Startup Global National Pitch Competition by Startup Canada, where your startup could have a chance at a $100K cash prize pool. It's actually four competitions, with three live events throughout the year, and a virtual competition on May 26.

You'll need to submit your virtual pitch application early enough to give judges two weeks to review and get back to you before the event, which is why I set the submission date as May 12. If that doesn't work well for you, there will also be a live pitch event in Mississauga in October to which you'll be able to apply at a later date.

Have a great week!
