From the moment the first trailer for A24’s new movie starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson dropped—and honestly, even before that—the internet was abuzz with rumors and speculation about the film’s big twist. And then attention was brought to a resurfaced 2012 essay in which the film’s director, Kristoffer Borgli, detailed a past romantic relationship with a teenager.
