Why pain can last long after injury (and what helps)


As April brings longer days many people are keen to get moving again; walking, running and training. But for those living with ongoing pain, even simple activity can feel frustratingly out of reach.
If pain has been lingering for months, it’s easy to assume something must still be “damaged” or getting worse.
Many people are told it’s just wear and tear, or that they need to rest more. In reality, persistent pain is often far more complex, and importantly, it can improve.
