It was the colour of the smoke that told Tontie Stacey something was wrong.
Stacey, a former police officer with the Kahnawake Peacekeepers, spotted the thick black cloud while driving home, The Gazette's René Bruemmer reports.
He decided to check it out — and when he arrived to find a duplex garage engulfed in flames, he sprang into action.
