Good Wednesday morning. This week we'll catch up with Florida's Republican primary race for governor, which is heating up, and examine a new debate over offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico on the anniversary of the BP oil disaster.

Florida's GOP race for governor gets testy

Lt. Gov. Jay Collins made a long-awaited splash in his campaign for governor Monday by warning that his Republican primary rival, U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds, would lose the race to Democrats in a general election.

The Donalds campaign dismissed the remarks as sour grapes, noting Donalds' endorsement from President Donald Trump and his huge lead among all contenders in campaign fundraising.

Meanwhile, environmental groups sued the Trump administration Monday over its approval of oil giant BP's deep-water drilling project in the Gulf of Mexico, coming on the 16th anniversary of BP's Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
