DIVINE INSPIRATION

Hey all,

Mark here. Here's what we have in store for this week...

WHAT I'M WRITING ABOUT

Will You Still Show Up When It’s Just Another Tuesday?

Most people think about who needs them today.

Deadlines. Pressure. Immediate demands. Those moments feel important because they’re loud and urgent. They force action.

But that’s not the real question.

The real question is who is counting on you to still be there years from now. Not in a crisis, not in a peak moment, but in the ordinary rhythm of life when the excitement is gone and it’s just another Tuesday.

That is where persistence lives.

Courage gets you into the fight. Persistence keeps you in it. Determination keeps your aim true. But dedication is what makes you someone others can rely on over time.

It’s not dramatic. It doesn’t get attention. It doesn’t show up in highlight reels.

It shows up early in the morning when no one is watching. It shows up when you follow through on something small that you could have skipped. It shows up when you stay aligned with your commitments even when it costs you something.

That’s what builds trust.

Dedication is not a feeling. It’s not something you claim. It’s something you demonstrate through consistent action, especially when it’s inconvenient.

Most people believe they are more dedicated than they actually are. Not because they’re dishonest, but because they confuse intention with action. They feel the loyalty, but their habits don’t reflect it.

That's the gap.

And over time, that gap becomes visible to everyone around them.

The ones who can be counted on long term are not the ones who surge when it matters. They are the ones who show up when it doesn’t.

Hooyah!

NEW EPISODE - THE MARK DIVINE SHOW

The Mark Divine Show
Sheepdog Strong: Who Can Count on You 10 Years From Now
Episode #560

Dedication is the quiet force behind everything that lasts. It’s what turns short-term effort into long-term trust, and intention into something others can rely on over years, not just moments.

Podcast Highlights

In this episode, I break down what dedication really means and how leaders build the kind of consistency that people can count on for life.

You’ll learn:

  • Why dedication matters more than any single act of courage
  • The difference between intention and demonstrated commitment
  • What the “loyalty gap” is and how to identify it in your own life
  • Why dedication is built in small, unobserved moments
  • How consistent action over time builds trust and reliability
  • The three mechanisms that strengthen dedication
  • What an “unskippable rep” is and why it matters
  • How dedication turns values into lived behavior

Trust is not built in a moment.

It’s built over time.

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE

“Dedication is not what you say you value. It’s what your actions prove over time.” - Mark Divine

PRACTICE OR HABIT TO TRY

Start with a loyalty check.

Write down the three things you say you are most dedicated to.

Then look honestly at the past week. Did your time, energy, and habits reflect those priorities, or is there a gap between what you say matters and how you actually show up?

Next, choose one specific daily action that proves your commitment. Not a goal or intention, but something concrete you can execute every day.

Make it unskippable. No negotiation, no conditions, no exceptions.

At the end of the day, review whether you showed up for what you said matters or allowed something else to take its place.

That is how dedication becomes real.

Reflection:

Who in your life is counting on your consistency, not just your effort in moments that feel important?

The way you show up consistently over time is what determines whether others can truly rely on you..
