Opioid Overdose Awareness on National Fentanyl Awareness Day

• Today is National Fentanyl Awareness Day. Fentanyl is the primary opioid responsible for fatal and nonfatal overdoses in the Fairfax Health District.
• Progress is being made in reducing the number of fatal opioid overdoses in the Fairfax Health District.
• Take steps to prevent future overdoses or help individuals who need assistance.
• County resources include Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Education trainings, substance use treatment services and a 24/7 Emergency Services line.
