Like puffer coats and snow boots, you’re supposed to swap your winter skin care when the weather starts to change. As the weather starts to heat up, your skin will start to produce more oils and sweat. That, combined with layers of sunscreen and makeup, can cause clogged pores and unwanted breakouts.
In addition to drinking more water to keep your skin healthy and hydrated, you should swap out heavy cleansers for gentle or gel-based formulas, trade in thick creams for lightweight moisturizers and trade in your full-coverage foundation for a tinted sunscreen.
Minimal routines are usually best during the hotter months and, like we said before, hydration is key. Consider adding a hydrating mist to your skin care routine and avoid over-exfoliating your skin, which can make it more sensitive to sunlight. And remember: Don’t forget to invest in a good SPF.
